Mark Hanes:
Mark, and his wife Shimrit, have been in music ministry for over 25 years. Mark
has run sound for UMJC conferences on the west coast, (when they lived in San
Diego, and were members of "Kehilat Ariel" congregation) as well as
for Marty Goetz, Joel Chernoff, and Israel's Hope.
He plays oud (pictured), guitar, bass, djembe, dumbek, tubano, and other hand percussion. He also builds musical instruments including hand percussion, drums, and harps (he built Shimrit's beautiful harp.) The whole family gives the worship team a break when needed and they are at home.

Shimrit Hanes: Shimrit has been writing songs since she was in her teens. She played guitar for many years, but dropped it after she and Mark were married, so that she could concentrate on her vocals. She has also been choreographing Messianic dances for close to 18 years, (both at Kehilat Ariel, and now in Wichita) and teaches dance
She plays the harp as well as singing lead vocals,
and writing the majority of their music. She also home schools three of her
five girls. (This is her modest bio, I could fill up about a page and a half
about how amazing my parents are, but I’m not sure they would appreciate
that. ~Kerah)
Shalisha Hanes: Shalisha is our "right hand," She is the administrator, working with our parents to organize our time. She has a knack for arranging things. She sings background vocals, dances, and is contemplating learning the cello.
She is very creative and loves to design clothing. Her designs are graceful, modest, free flowing, and imaginative. She also cuts our hair, so it’s always a good plan NOT to get her aggravated. She loves photography. You can see some examples of her work inside our CD cover, and the band photo on this page was composed by her (she ran and jumped in before the camera snapped!) She is interested in film-making and she sketches and paints in her free time.
Shalisha is more mechanically minded, and an auditory
learner. She reads her Bible one thought at a time.....Selah. ("I wish
my parents had played me Mozart when I was a tot so I could figure out what
on earth I just read" Kidding I am. ~Shalisha) She also enjoys listening
to F.F.O.Z's recorded commentary and studies.
Adrielle Hanes:
Being the second oldest (after Shalisha), Adrielle is a dreamer with a fiery side. She loves C. S. Lewis, Jane Austin, and G. K. Chesterton, and hopes to write something beautiful someday. We all believe she will. She is also an artist; sketching, sculpting, and creating lovely jewelry. She likes to dabble in clothing design, though her designs are a bit "avant-garde" and not for everyone!
She has a passion for truth, righteousness, and
justice, and has been recently studying the scriptures and comparing what is
tradition (whether Christian or Jewish) with God's actual statutes and laws.

Kerah Joy
Hanes: Kerah is 19, and very aptly named "Feast of Joy."
She has always been a natural entertainer, and kept us laughing with her easy
going and unpretentious interpretations of the world and people around her.
Along with Adrielle's love of acting, and Shalisha's sense of order and design,
the girls have regaled us (particularly during the holidays) with skits, complete
with sets and costumes
Kerah's musical gift has been apparent since she
sang her first harmony note at age three. She learned to whistle about the same
time she learned to talk, and by age five had added vibrato, and stops, and
began to whistle complex melodies in minor keys, with accidentals. She adds
her voice to our harmonies, background vocals, and now sings several solos.
She is a "deep thinker" and is analytical in her faith. She enjoys
comparing scripture with other scripture, and finding relationships and connections.

Liorah Hanes: Liorah is 16 and very practical. She's strong in areas that some of us are weak in. She rounds out our percussion, playing djembe when Adrielle moves to dumbek, and also tambourine, shaker, and slap.
We are training her right now to understudy for Shalisha, as Shalisha is looking at some open doors in film that we would really like her to pursue, and may be absent at times. She is learning Shalisha's vocal parts and the dances.
Liorah likes to read her Bible, and she says things
just "leap out at her." She finds that scriptures just "come
to mind" as she faces different challenges in her life. She is still studying
hard to finish her schooling, she enjoys writing, drawing, and reading. She
loves to make new friends, and I've heard that she gives very good and sound
advice.
Les
Morrison: Les no longer plays with us on a regular basis. We
are excited for him as he has been playing solo now since the summer of 2004!
He has also been playing for other artists (look for his name on their albums!)
He has his own album out which you can find on www.galileeofthenations.com .
You will also hear him on our next album!
I think Les was born playing the violin! He says
he has been playing since he was 5 years old. He comes from 5 generations of
violinists and violin builders. By the time he was in his late teens and early
twenties he was playing in violin ensembles with such notables as Isaac Stern
and Yitzak Perlman. His faith is mature and solid, proved by the recent storms
he has been weathering. He is an inspiration to all of us. His soaring and emotive
violin parts are an important part of the "Zemer Levav" sound. He
has six beautiful children whom he adores. He teaches violin, and other instruments
in the Wichita area.
