Baruch and Adrielle came to the northeast together to visit with us and Baruchs family members who live in Canada. He wanted to introduce his "beloved" to his grandparents.
While we were together in Rhode Island Baruch spoke with Mark and I about his desire to marry our daughter and together they sought counsel from the Rabbi and his wife.
That night Kerah and Andre' joined us as Baruch offered Adrielle the traditional glass of wine and she drank, thereby accepting his proposal. He then presented her a ring to seal the engagement! We all cheered, then prayed blessings over them and toasted the bride and groom.
The next day they were off, to get back to work and school.

Wedding details below! |
We spent a week and a half with the Oliveira family during the time Baruch and Adrielle were with us. I guess wedding fever must be catching, because after we left, Andre' called Mark and asked for Kerah's hand, Mark gave his blessing, and then Andre' and his mom and I started scheming.
He wanted to surprise Kerah, who had no idea that Andre' had spoken with her father. He drove to Buffalo where we had a concert, and afterwards we all went to Niagara Falls. It was very crowded, with people from all over the world. Andre' needed to find a quiet place to propose! I told them my feet hurt and I needed to find a place to sit down, so his cousin Vanessa and I split off, and went to the tourist center. It was getting dark, and Andre' found a quiet place above the colored lights that shine on the falls, and there he popped the question! |

Andre' and Kerah's Wedding!
It about took my breath away! Everything went so quickly, and though I had some very stressed out moments, like when they told me the price for the wedding dress alterations and I just didn't have enough, God blessed and came through in everything. Kerah looked beautiful, God gave us an incredible venue, a beautiful lodge in the country, and He met us at every point of need. I know Lisa must have had her moments also, because we were on the road, and much of the wedding planning fell on her and Kerah and Andre's good friend Carlene, who by the way was an incredible help!
The day before, everyone was working together cooking, cleaning, and making preparations. We had parties for the bride and groom at two different homes, and Shalisha and I made the traditional Sephardic henna designs on Kerah's hands, hiding the grooms name for him to find on their wedding night. Carlene gave Kerah several beauty treatments, to prepare her and give her a quiet time for relaxing and resting. On the wedding day the flowers were picked up, and we all helped each other get ready. We had two young ladies doing everyones hair, and we helped each other do our make up. Everyone looked stunning! Adrielle made Kerah's bouquet, and we all headed to the lodge.
It was after dark when Kerah entered the litter that Mark (her dad) made for her, and with white curtains billowing in the wind and glowing with light, headed down the hill to the lodge carried by four men. Mark and I went on ahead to take our places. The bridesmaids and maids of honor, came first with their lanterns shining, Then Mark took one of the lanterns to light the way for the bride, and escorted her down the aisle. The bridesmaids "adorned" the bride with the jewelry I had made for her (double strands of freshwater pearls, aquamarines, moonstones, and swarovski crystals; necklace, bracelet, and earrings). The shofar blasted, and the bridegroom was announced. He came with his companions, and the ceremony began. From there it was a pretty traditional Jewish wedding, with the bride circling her groom 7 times, blessings pronounced, words from the Rabbi, the goblet of wine shared, rings exchanged and the goblet smashed, Andre' kissed his bride, and the danceing began. Bride and Groom were danced around while held aloft on chairs. Then we feasted on grilled shishkabobs of lamb, beef, and chicken, grilled vegies, potatos and yams and a big salad.
After dinner we had toasts to the Bride and Groom by their best friends. the wedding cake which was a French concoction made up of 500 small round elclairs shaped in a cone. People just broke off peices they wanted. I heard it was delicious, and people ate it for three days afterwards!
Andre' and Kerah had three nights in a beautiful hotel suite, and then they packed into the RV and we headed for the Florida Keys. Mark and I gave them a couple more nights alone together in a rented trailer at the camp ground, Natanyah spent the two weeks with a friend at a Bible School. We had prayed for a trailer for the new couple so that they would have their own space, and more privacy than they could have in the RV. The Lord answered our prayers two weeks later and they now have a darling old '77 AirStream (you know, those cute aluminum twinkies?) And blessed our ministry with a nice truck to pull it. So now we are a little caravan!
